9:15-10:15      Researching Your Ancestors in Ireland – Mary Flood, Genealogist, Rothe House, Kilkenny, Ireland
— Getting started with your Irish ancestry, exploring personal as well as official sources
— Irish Origins – North and South
— County Units
— Land denominations 19th century Ireland

10:15-10:30      BREAK

10:30-11:45      Irish Vital Records and Substitutes – Mary Flood
— as well as Irish websites and what they offer the family historian

12:00-1:00      LUNCH

1:00-2:15 pm      Finding Your Irish American Ancestors in the U.S. – Lisa Dougherty, NARA Pittsfield Volunteer and Irish researcher

2:15-2:30      BREAK with refreshments

2:30-3:30      Exploring the 1940 U.S. Census – Jean Nudd Elliott, NARA Archivist
— We’ll take a look at the questions and enumerators’ instructions so you’ll know what to expect on the 1940 census coming April 2, 2012

3:30-4:00      Final discussion, questions or problems

10:30-2:30      Concurrent with lectures, Mary and Lisa will provide one-on-one consultations to those who provide them with advance information (see separate registration form) by May 1st.  Consultations will last approximately 10 minutes and spaces are limited!

8:00-3:30      Research room open for those wanting to search the internet and use the websites Mary provides in the morning and Lisa provides in the early afternoon.  Mary and Lisa will wander the room from 2:30-3:30 and answer specific questions. Afternoon research time will be limited to 30 minutes per person (see registration form to reserve a spot).
